Welcome to the
Chicago Recovery Alliance

The Chicago Recovery Alliance (CRA) is a racially and ethnically diverse group composed of people living with HIV and drug use, working in addiction treatment, healthcare, education, law and other assorted areas. CRA is unique as an organization in that our work entails building one-on-one relationships with individuals affected by HIV and drug use and provide them with a wide array of options for achieving any positive change as they define it for themselves. CRA is an organization for those interested in directly serving, supporting, educating and advocating with others for reducing drug related harm.

The Last “First”

The Last “First”

The Chicago Recovery Alliance is excited & proud to launch an exciting new initiative: The Alliance for Collaborative Drug Checking—Real Time (ACDC-RT)!

To our knowledge, this is one of the first real-time, triangulated spectrometer drug checking projects in the country. We are all thrilled for the possibilities! At the same time, the launch has been emotional for us. This is the final revolutionary brainchild of our founding director Dan Bigg, who doggedly worked toward the idea’s realization for the past several years.

Symposia on Responding to Opioid Overdose as a Byproduct of Institutionalized Racial Violence

Symposia on Responding to Opioid Overdose as a Byproduct of Institutionalized Racial Violence

Opioid overdose is a byproduct of institutionalized racial violence. In 2018, CRA launched an aggressive opioid overdose expansion initiative. It addresses institutional racism and structural violence by focusing on community care and resilience and preventing the trauma of avoidable overdose deaths.
